Alhaji Ahmad Abdullahi emerged as Chairman First Bank Nigeria Holdings (FBNH)

The Central Bank of Nigeria has approved the appointment of Alhaji Ahmad Abdullahi as the non-executive director of First Bank Holding Plc and chairman of the company. 

This follows the recent resignation of the former chairman of the company, Remi Babalola. Alhaji Abdullahi’s CBN approval was made public on Friday evening by his corporate communications director, Mr. Osita Nwanisobi, for revealing that the highest bank had been duly briefed on Mr. Babalola, as chairman of the company in the context of competition from certain shareholders important for the control of First Bank Holding Plc.

The CBN congratulated Alhaji Abdullahi on his appointment, even because it defined the resignation of Babalola as “regrettable”.

Thanking Mr Babalola for his service, CBN spokesman mentioned the strides recorded through the business enterprise beneathneath the watch of the outgoing chairman, as he needed him nicely in his destiny endeavours.

The CBN spokesman continued that the CBN remained dedicated to making sure obvious governance practices on the financial institution and the continuing independence of the chairman and different individuals keeping key governance positions.

The CBN mentioned that its regulatory interventions had made high-quality effect and expanded splendor of the enterprise to each neighborhood and overseas investors.
