Following Mr. Titus Uba’s absence from numerous significant state activities as both the candidate and Speaker of the Benue state House of Assembly, the health issue of the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate is creating a stir in Benue State.
Many people believe the candidate is suffering from a condition related to a stroke.
However, the PDP’s Benue State campaign management committee stated that it was aware of “public suspicions concerning the health status of the party’s governorship candidate for the 2023 elections.”
In a statement, the State Campaign Management Committee’s deputy director for media and publicity, Bemgba Iortyom, said: “We acknowledge that such rumors may come from well-wishers and supporters who are worried about their favorite candidate’s absence from public events over the past few weeks, and we are also aware that a portion of the opposition is looking to capitalize politically on the situation for little cost. We want to make it clear to our devoted and devoted supporters that Titus Uba is only away on a medical vacation that is required by natural causes, which no human, no matter how high or low, is immune from. This should dispel the malicious intentions of his critics. As claimed in rumors spread by heartless opposition members, Uba is not ill with any condition.
We want to reassure everyone that the PDP candidate for governor of Benue is healthy and will soon return to his position in the State Assembly as well as the campaign trail, where he is clearly leading the race for the top position at the Benue People’s House in Makurdi in 2023.
The PDP has enjoyed favorable treatment at every election year since 1999, with the exception of a brief period in 2015. The Campaign Management Committee is grateful for the current agreement between the good people of Benue State and the PDP.
“We trust that in 2023 Benue people will maintain their confidence in our great party with sweeping victory at the polls.”
However, some residents said there are indications that the Benue PDP is hiding the true state of health of its guber candidate from the public.
