SWIFIN: More opinions as service outage reaches peak 120 hours (5 days)


As the outage of service on all the Swifin platforms reaches its peak, today makes it exactly 120 hours (5 days) of total frustration as one of the users in Uganda voiced his opinion.

Revealing to newsway what they perceived might be the reason for the outage of service on the platform, Mr. Raymond Akello a Kampala resident who responded to through Facebook chat said;

“I asked one of the Swifin mobile money operators here in Kampala if their POS are also experiencing the downturn in service but surprisingly he said, the POS are working fine. So I feel it’s only as regards the stimulus application that is out of service presently.”

Inasmuch as this situation is intended for, many beneficiaries of the Lumi stimulus are becoming so worried especially as the next (January) payday approaches.

All means by Newsway to get answers from the support team yielded no result. However, the maintenance is intended to optimize the platform.

Efforts are underway to integrate Lumi currency into national economies this year and to link other similar pathways where Lumi maybe transferred to external platforms for subsequent exchange.

This development was disclosed in an email sent to all beneficiaries as a breakdown of events in the preceding year 2021 and upcoming events in the present year 2022.
