NYSC begins Batch “C” Stream II year of service, saying the camp is only open to vaccinated members


The NYSC says that the year of service of the 2021 “ Batch C ” Stream II  begins on November 24. This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja  by Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi, NYSC Director, press and public relations. 

Federal officials, including corps members, will need to show proof of COVID19 vaccination before they can access field offices and orientation  from December 1.

“Please note that presenting a counterfeit COVID19 vaccination certificate is a criminal offense,” the statement read. 

According to the statement, all potential Corps Members (PCMs) mobilized for the year of service must be present for the COVID19 test at the camp prior to enrollment. 

“Successful registered PCMs will be sworn in on Tuesday, November 30. The compulsory orientation course will run until Tuesday 14 December. 

PCMs must complete the COVID19 Rapid Diagnostic Test Self-Print Form and print the verification receipt to present in the field for the COVID19 test.

“We want to inform Nigerians that all COVID19 safety protocols will be strictly adhered to in orientation camps.” We have partnered with the National Center for Disease Control and state health agencies to ensure COVID19-free orientation camps, the statement said. 

He added that PCMs are only required to report to camp on the dates stated in their appeal letters to ensure compliance with COVID19 protocols.

According to the statement, the staggered date of submission to the camp by the PCMs is aimed at avoiding overcrowding and ensuring physical and social distancing. 

The statement said all PCMs were to report to the camp with appropriate face masks and personal pocket hand sanitizer. He urged all PCMs mobilized for the year of service to visit their respective camps, as stated in their letters of appeal. 

The program stipulated that foreign graduates were to report to the camp with their passports and original copies of all uploaded documents. “PCMs are strongly advised not to undertake overnight trips to orientation camps to avoid endangering themselves,” the NYSC said.

The program has also advised PCMs traveling by road to stop their trips if they exceed 6 hours. staying overnight in military or police barracks, NYSC secretariats, corps lodges and other places of safety. 

The program urged all PCMs to diligently read the appeal letters sent to them as they contained all the relevant information and guidelines and not to board vehicles on the side of the road. 

“They should also not board vehicles not registered with the National Union of Road Transport Workers on the way to the camp.

They are advised to only use government approved parks to avoid falling prey to criminals. They should also be warned of the dangers of traveling at night. 

He added that the program has been in contact with Security Agencies to ensure the safety of all members of the organization and ensured that all inquiries to the NYSC would be answered promptly.

He further stated that monotechnical or polytechnic graduates must submit national certificates and other relevant documents as a prerequisite for field registration. 

The program advised PCMs not to present false documents during registration as management had an adequate mechanism in place to suppress and prosecute perpetrators.
