The Federal Government has claimed it pays over N10bn in every two months to one million Nigerians through the Conditional Cash Transfer under the National Social Safety Program (NSSP).
The program was designed to help reduce the living conditions of the extremely poor and vulnerable Nigerians, address unemployment, encourage school enrollment as well as capacity building for those who wish to be self reliance.
The National Coordinator of the program Mr. Iorwa Apera disclosed this in Abuja during the NSSP’s third-party scorecard dissemination in Abuja.
Iorwa Apera said;
“From the Conditional Cash Transfer program we are supposed to pay N5000 monthly to each beneficiary but because some of these beneficiaries come from long distances, we pay them N10000 once for two months so that even if part of it is used as fare may have something to eat.
