Swifin digital platform has uncovered first cases of digital theft all from Nigeria. All the cases are same in nature and revolves around hacking.
At least twelve individual accounts have been reported to be hacked and the Swifin technical support team were contacted, they swiftly replied to have taken actions and the two suspects’ linked in the case are under surveillance.
This has become very necessary as many individuals most especially of Nigerian natives have more than ten accounts on Swifin just to manipulate the Lumi currency stimulus.
Within few months of payments most people have more than a thousand Lumi credited to their individual accounts. This is fraudulent and must be dealt with accordingly.
The technical support team however said, they will look diligently into the matter and carryout necessary actions but at least two people are on watchlist. Adding that they were fully aware of the happenings and would definitely bring a way of validating all individual accounts before the planned withdrawal commenced.
Individual accounts with cumulative balance above AKL1000 may be blocked until the account owner validates through facial recognition, ID type and number and names on all tendered documents during the registration of those accounts may be manually reviewed.
“Some persons referred others and are paid commission. If such amount is found in an individual and records shows that the huge balance is a result of accumulated referral commission it may not be validated”.
The public or beneficiaries are advised to maintain a single account except if the accounts are of different categories (individual, business, merchant and agent). One person may have all the above categories of account in the Swifin platform.
