Security personnel have destroyed a terror camp, arresting five Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) commanders, and taken 30 militants into custody amid the increased threat of terrorist attacks in Abuja.

Punch claims that a coordinated operation between the Department of State Services (DSS), the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), the police, and other security services resulted in the arrest of the accused.

The suspects are being kept in the custody of the DSS after being apprehended in Abuja at their various hideouts.

The United States Department of State permitted the departure of non-emergency U.S. government personnel from Nigeria in response to the advisories from both nations.

In response to the warnings, the federal government informed Nigerians via the minister of information that the Nigerian Armed Forces were in control of the nation’s security issues.

The DSS urged Nigerians to maintain their composure, noting that previous warnings of this nature have been issued.

While urging everyone to take the appropriate safety precautions, the DSS stated, “The people is exhorted to be aware and provide security services with relevant information regarding dangers and suspicious criminal activity around them.”
