Prof. Bem Angwe: My government will engage youths into useful ventures

In an attempt to address unemployment and take youths away from the street, the NNPP gubernatorial candidate in Benue State Prof. Bem Angwe has assured youths of his plans to engage them into useful ventures when elected to power in 2023.

Speaking to a group of entertainers under the aegis of “KULE-KULE MOVEMENT” in his Gboko residence, Angwe stated that youths have been neglected after being used by politicians to achieve various forms of malpractices during elections. He refuted the ideology that youths follow politicians and after being successfully elected into various public offices they are only given meager rewards and sometimes not rewarded at all.

Angwe also highlighted the need for Benue Youths to at least engage into farming activities, citing himself as one who has benefited immensely from agriculture in the previous year. He said:

“Don’t feel big to start something of your own, some of you can cultivate yams and when the produce are sold you can then invest into something else and be earning daily from it. I cultivated 22 yam farms last year, I also cultivated pepper, bambara nut, tomatoes and rice. So I’m a beneficiary of agriculture and I should advise you better.”

Angwe also stressed the need for youths to appear facially responsibly in order to avoid harassment from the police and other law enforcement agencies.
