Pi Core Team: We do not authorized any exchange listing; a trial might result in asset loss

The Pi Network Core Team has refuted to the listing of it’s token on two exchanges (XT.COM and Huobi Global) saying the platform is still operating in its enclosed mainnet and as such can not be officially listed for trading on any platform.

The Pi Network team responded to the announcement of the $Pi listing on XT.COM and Huobi Global by stating, “Pi Network is not connected with and has not authorized any exchange listing.” highlighting the fact that “Pi is in Enclosed Mainnet with no external connectivity allowed.” The tweet reads:

“Pi is in Enclosed Mainnet with no external connectivity permitted. Pi Network isn’t affiliated with and hasn’t authorized any exchange listing. Such listings may not operate on real Pi. Participation may result in loss.”

When is the open Mainnet going live?

This period could start on Pi Day (March 14, 2022), Pi2 Day (June 28, 2022), or a later date, depending on how developed the Enclosed Network ecosystem is and how the KYC is coming along. The firewall that was present during the Enclosed Network time will be removed during the Open Network era, enabling any external connectivity, including connections to other networks, wallets, and the Pi Mainnet. Pioneers will have access to their own Pi Nodes and API services, and API requests won’t be protected by a firewall. The pioneers will be able to connect to other blockchains. The Mainnet can be administered by Community Nodes as well.

In case you are not aware

  • Huobi Global, the first cryptocurrency trading platform to indicate interest in listing $Pi has integrated the token, even though the mainnet has not yet been deployed.
  • Since XT.COM can’t wait that long, December 29th will go down in Pi Network history as the day that its native token will be formally listed on a trading platform. PiCoin will go live for trade on the site at precisely 3:00 UTC, according to a statement from the platform.
