Ortom dares Buhari; Inaugurate Community Volunteers Guard and vow to armed them with AK-47


The Governor of Benue State Samuel Ortom has inaugurated the Community Volunteers Guard to replace the defunct Benue State Vigilante Group and vow to armed them with licensed AK-47.

Speaking during the inauguration, the Ortom said, it has became necessary for the state government to look elsewhere or adopt different measures to tackle the issue of insurgency in the state since the Federal Government is doing nothing to secure lives and property.

The Governor noted that herdsmen alone has killed uncountable innocent lives in Benue State. They’ve destroyed several farms and chased families out of their ancestoral homes.

According to the information available on the confirmed twitter handle of the State Government, the Governor revealed in confident that between 2011 to date herdsmen have claimed more than 5000 innocent lives.

“The unprovoked attacks by Fulani terrorists on unarmed people of the state since 2011 have claimed more than  5,000 lives in the state.”

Newsway confirmed that about 23 patrol vehicles were also commissioned and distributed to the officers of the Community Volunteers Guard (CVG).
