NFL playoff picks: 5 coaches and executives predict winners of the divisional rounds

NFL divisional round playoff matches this weekend may even surpass the spectacular wild-card slate from the previous weekend.

The Chiefs and Eagles have a chance to defend their No. 1 seeds after their bye weeks, but they each face the Jaguars and Giants, two opponents who have exceeded expectations and proven to be formidable opponents.

Four clubs with real Super Bowl hopes are involved in the Sunday matchups.

Four excellent matches were noted by an assistant coach. “All four games might end in a tie or a win,”

The Athletic asked coaches and executives last week to determine their wild-card choices, and they collectively correctly predicted five of the six games, with the Giants’ shock of the Vikings standing out.

Two executives and three assistant coaches must return for a second vote. They were each given anonymity so they could express themselves honestly. This is how they predict the weekend will pan out.

The Chiefs handed the Jaguars one of their two losses in their last ten games, 27-17 at Arrowhead in Week 10. The Jaguars have also made significant comebacks against the Raiders (17 points), Ravens (9 points), Cowboys (10 points), Titans (10 points), and Chargers (27 points).

In the opening six plays of the wild-card victory over the Chargers, quarterback Trevor Lawrence intercepted the ball four times. Through seven series, he had a passer rating of 0.0 before going off in the third-largest comeback in playoff history.

One coach made the comment, “If Jacksonville begins fast, it might be a game,” which the Jaguars would want to put into action.
