Since the dawn of civilization, the world has already warmed by 1.1C, and scientists warn that the increase must be kept at 1.5C by the year 2100 to prevent the worst effects.

However, researchers believe that continuing with existing measures will result in an increase of up to 2.8C this century.

The wealthy nations responsible for the majority of past emissions are being pressured to pay poor countries compensation.

This week’s event is scheduled to include attendance by US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Men in dark suits can be seen standing by themselves in dusty fields and deserted streets all the way along the road leading to the COP27 conference center here in Sharm el-Sheikh. These individuals look to be security officers who have been called in to make sure nothing disrupts this significant event.

This is especially true today because international leaders will be present at the gathering, giving speeches and participating in roundtable talks.

Although they claim they are delighted to facilitate protests in a defined site, at a designated time, the Egyptian authorities appear to place a high priority on suppressing such demonstrations. Not simply the men in black are responsible for the feeling of being watched.
