Amidst the growing criticisms by some certain factors (inpatient pioneers) over the delay of the Mainnet launch, though rumours going round has it that the Mainnet of the Pi evolution and development may emerge before the end of this year.
The pivotal phase for Pi Network will be as open Mainnet in phase 3 because the white paper states that the Mainnet’s Blockchain will go live during this phase. This is the exact moment every pioneer eagerly awaits, because Pi Network will be able to connect with exchanges enabling the trading of PiCoin.
Recall that, on December 29th 2021, the enclosed mainnet went live, beginning the phase 3 of the project. Nine months have passed, pioneers are still struggling with completing the “Know Your Customer” (KYC) process with a vast majority of them not yet invited.
With numerous successful barters, the open Mainnet could start on this period, that is if the content of the white paper is anything to go with. During this period, restrictions on the enclosed mainnet will be completely lifted, enabling additional connections to the Pi Mainnet.
Is the Mainnet secretly launched?
Let’s read further to get more understanding.
Pioneers have repeatedly been warned not to trust any connection to other platforms outside of the Pi browser, but something different has just occurred that will make you more confused.
A new development has just hinted that Pi Bridge might have been approved and integrated into the Pi ecosystem by the Core Team or another bridge developed by the Core Team. But could this really be the beginning of the Mainnet launch?
Now to make matters even more worst we have discovered that there are two Pi Bridge portals, one accessible through the Pi browser while the other is not. So we will focus only on the address accessible through the Pi browser which is (i://pibridge.io) and not https://pibridge.org.
Cross-chain transactions commenced?
Pi Bridge now facilitating cross-chain transactions between Pi Network and Coinbase. Sounds hilarious right? That’s how I felt when i stumbled on it initially but something more confusing struck me, so I researched further and found out that pioneers can actually send Pi but only in a wrapped form to Binance Smart Chain wallets, at the moment only Coinbase is linked.
How to send Pi to the Binance Smart Chain wallet? (Coinbase)
First be cautious, I advise you not to link your Pi Network wallets with the Coinbase wallet yet. Wait for an official statement from the Core Team, just confirming that a process like this has commenced is enough and don’t do anything further.
Step 1: Unlock PI wallet
- Open PI Browser.
- Click on wallet.pi button.
- Enter your passphrase to unlock your wallet.
Step 2: Send PI
- Simply type https://pibridge.io on the address bar of the PI Browser.
- Enter PI amount you would like to convert.
- Enter the receiving BSC wallet address for which in the field.
Please note: that instead of using exchange wallet, you should only use personal wallet which you own the private key (MetaMask wallet is recommended).
- Click “Wrap PI to wPI”.
Step 3: Confirm payment
On PI wallet screen, click “Pay with π” to confirm payment.
Step 4: Claim wPI Tokens
- Go to https://app.pibridge.io/claim on web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge…)
- Connect your Binance Smart Chain wallet and claim wPI token.
In case you are not aware
- Binance Smart Chain (BSC) is a smart contract-enabled parallel blockchain to Binance Chain that provides a permissionless platform for decentralized application (DApps).
- Pibridge is a trustless gateway that unleashes the barrier between the Pi network and other blockchains, making Pi accessible and approachable to the public and offering a new permissionless and transparent financial tool to the Pi users. Pi Bridge allows data to flow and Pi holders to freely travel between the networks. This is also a pre-opened way for Pi holders to take advantage of the asset’s value.
- The most significant benefit of the project is enhanced interoperability and scalability. Users benefit from blockchain bridges through the ability to enjoy more features of different platforms such as farming and staking, exchanging with other cryptocurrencies, lending, fundraising, e-commerce, etc., avoiding scammers and faster transactions. Some other successful examples of blockchain bridges that brought great benefits are Celer cBridge, Cross-Chain Bridge, Umbria Narni Bridge, etc.
