Antonio Conte insists I’m not afraid of challenges: “Having a 1% chance of winning is enough for me.
The former Juventus and Inter player was appointed Tottenham coach earlier this month and signed an 18-month contract. ” “I was never afraid of challenges,” Conte told Sportweek, as quoted by Calciomercato.com.
“Having a one percent chance of winning is enough for me. I’ve never taken on teams that won last year. I have built up again and again in my career.
“Juventus was seventh, Chelsea tenth, Inter fourth. I know it will take a little patience this time around. I finished my job in Milan, it’s never easy to take over during the season.”
Conte won national titles with all three clubs. He was named champions of Italy and England in his first season at Juventus and Chelsea and it took him two seasons to win the Scudetto at Inter.
He had held talks with Spurs after the end of his contract with the Nerazzurri. but initially turned down the opportunity to return to the Premier League but changed his mind a few months later.
