To improve the fan experience before the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, payments giant Visa has launched Visa Masters of Movement, a hybrid auction that merges football, art, and NFTs.
The Visa Masters of Movement, which is now being offered for sale on Crypto.com and is inspired by famous goals scored by five legendary football players, is a collection of digital artwork.
The NFTs will come to life on an interactive field at the FIFA Fan Festival in Doha, Qatar, later this month, enabling participants to create digital artwork based on their own distinctive movements.
As part of a cooperation with Crypto.com, the official cryptocurrency trading platform sponsor of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, eligible fans will have the chance to mint this digital art into their own NFT.
The most distinctive memorabilia from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar
“As FIFA World Cup 2022 approaches, we want to celebrate football, art, and technology through the lens of what makes the FIFA World Cup so special – wildly passionate fans, legendary athletes, and for a few short weeks, the ability to bring the world together in a uniquely connected way,” said Andrea Fairchild, senior vice president and head of sponsorships at Visa.
The FIFA World Cup is one of the most eagerly awaited athletic events in the world, and we are tremendously excited to give fans a new opportunity to participate with this great event, said Steven Kalifowitz, Chief Marketing Officer at Crypto.com.
The sale will continue till November 8th (9:00pm GMT). Football fans have the opportunity to bid on five original works of art that were inspired by renowned footballers’ goals from the FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup: Jared Borgetti, Tim Cahill, Carli Lloyd, Michael Owen, and Maxi Rodriguez, which were made into NFTs. Award-winning XK Studios used an algorithm to create the digital artwork.
On Crypto.com, an auction for the Visa Masters of Movement is currently underway. A high-quality printable art file and autographed memorabilia from the renowned player featured in the NFT will be sent to fans who placed the highest bid for each NFT at the end of the auction in addition to the NFT itself.
