Elon Musk planning to sack over 75% of twitter staff after purchase


Elon Musk’s somewhat consider purchasing of twitter has a fresh take, that does not go down well with the company’s workers. This was reported by AP via it’s verified twitter account.

It seems that musk has told shareholders that among his action plan is to lay off 75% of the social network’s workers, which translates to about 5,500 employees.

With this, musk intends to have had a workforce of only a nothing beyond 2,000 employees. this was reported by the washington post. only a few weeks ago, musk posted a comment that he was standing by his offer to pay $54.20 one per share of the social network, despite three months of attempting to smash the deal and terminate the transaction.

“while i and the other investors are obviously overpaying for twitter right now, the long-term potential of twitter, in my opinion, is an order of magnitude greater than its current value,” musk said.

As reported by the post, twitter’s directors planned to cut wage bill by 800 million by the end of next year, representing a 25% minimisation in its workers. but the recent 75% report has the social network’s workers frightened.

In june, musk had said that it was essential to “rationalize the number of staff” and that “anyone who is a major contributor ought to have nothing at all to worry about.” Although he said that before he tried to cancel the deal.
