The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, has blamed the assault on a man claimed to be a ‘phony diocesan’ or bishop in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
According Sowore, the casualty who is a handyman was blamed for showing up as a “phony priest” at the revealing of the All Progressives Congress vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, in Abuja weeks prior.
Sowore claimed that the casualty was ‘apprehended’ probably by allies of the presidential candidate of the Labor Party, Peter Obi, in a market in Dei Dei neighborhood of Abuja.
In a progression of tweets on his Twitter handle on Sunday, the AAC presidential candidate, likewise blamed Nigerians, who he guaranteed, upheld the crowd activity via virtual media stages, including Facebook and WhatsApp.
He stated, “I was especially stunned that a few profoundly regarded people on Facebook/WhatsApp and somewhere else commended this disorder against this specific Nigerian. Since the coming of this political race cycle, we’ve seen and noticed an uplifted degree of badgering of residents by means of death threats, fire related crimes, verbal and presently actual maltreatment against the people who happen not to help Peter Obi’s bid.
“A Catholic Church pastored by Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka known as Adoration Ministry was a survivor of this crowd activity, Femi Kuti’s African Shrine in Lagos was forced to bear pyromaniacs over his refusal to help Mr. Obi for President.
“We’ve seen allies wielding weapons and compromising individuals who probably won’t uphold Obi’s office. A former media aid to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri griped reliably that the existence of his one-year-old little girl was over and over undermined.
“Obi’s allies are in good company in this unseemly demonstration, an impaired Obi ally was purportedly beaten for showing his stuff. Notwithstanding, Obi’s campaigners have shown the most measure of prejudice and provocation of his rivals.
“The most recent mobbing of the Bishop/handyman is primitive, unsuitable and criminal. I denounce these behaviors and urge Nigerians to remain by their freedoms to pick their candidate without pandering to dread, badgering and dangers by anybody.
“No arrangement of people or gatherings ought to be permitted to ride roughshod on anybody essentially in light of the fact that they won’t follow their favored candidate(s). It is Democracy, established and fabricated essentially on the opportunity to pick.
