Atiku Abubakar: We never ignored the G5, we want to renegotiate with the aggrieved Governors

Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, is prepared to speak with the five resentful governors, according to the Peoples Democratic Party presidential campaign committee.

This was revealed by the party’s deputy national youth leader, who claimed that Atiku never shied away from a chance to address the problems.

He asserted, “It takes two to agree. It is regrettable that our nominee must deal with this kind of circumstance. Even though he has nothing to do with their demand (Ayu’s resignation), he has frequently attempted to mediate a truce between these resentful groups. You cannot refuse to change positions while being amenable to reconciliation. That’s not how it operates.

Senator Ibrahim Tsauri, a former PDP national secretary and current member of the party’s National Executive Committee, also spoke and claimed that Atiku had tried his hardest to make amends with the Wike-led faction but to no effect.

Recall that earlier in the week, five displeased governors demanded that all avenues be opened for reconciliation.

The PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, is being demanded to resign or be removed by the governors of the states of Rivers, Oyo, Abia, Benue and Enugu in order for the party to resume its presidential campaign.

The governors haven’t yet realized that what they were asking Atiku to do with the removal of Ayu was outside the scope of his authority, according to Charles Aniagwu, a spokesperson for the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization.
