The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the State working committee has resolved on the choice of Honourable Barr. Samuel Ode as the running mate for the party’s flag bearer in the state Reverend Hyacinth Alia.

The choice of Hon. Sam Ode came after a long consultation with relevant stakeholders from the Benue South Senatorial district where he hails from.

Until his adoption, Ode was a one time Chairman of the Otukpo Local Government Council during the George Akume regime as Governor of the State. Thereafter, Ode was appointed Minister for Niger Delta by the former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The APC in the State however was faced with turbulence wave over the emergence of the Clergyman as the flag bearer for the party.

This however has gone as far as some factors sponsoring a protest at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja calling for the proper primaries.

The group “Benue Youths Alliance” carrying placards with the inscription “APC SAVE BENUE” called for the swift intervention of the National Working Committee in the primaries that produced the Reverend.
