The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has concluded all necessary arrangements to kick-start payments to small holder farmers enumerated into the Agriculture For Food and Jobs Plan’s (AFJP) database, the program is part of the Economic Sustainability Plan headed by the vice president, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo.
The disbursement according to the minister Mr. Sabo Nanono said, as earlier speculated, the fertilizer grant might not be that much as many may expect. This is because the amount that is voted or approved for the implementation of the program is not much.
A farmer is expected to receive between N3,000 to N12,000 according to the sizes of their farms respectively.

The first tranche of payment may begin next week for the first batch of selected farmers. While NIBSS is working out another batch that will follow Accordingly.
Farmers that are yet to Link their BVN to their account numbers have been advised to do so because NIBSS is fetching account numbers that are linked to a farmer’s BVN.
