A gubernatorial candidate on the platform of the APC, Hon. Msoo Llewellyn Ghasarah promises to engage youths and women in his government when he becomes the Governor of Benue State.

Speaking during an interactive session of the “BENUE YOUTHS SUMMIT AND INTERACTIVE SESSION” held at the Tor Tiv hall of the Benue Hotels Makurdi, Hon. Msoo noted that youths are the ones with the strength and will be included in running his government.

He also noted that it is quite simple as a businessman to move youths away from the street citing instances on companies that may have been sealed for not meeting up tax obligations with the State Government.

The honourable said, his administration will negotiate with such companies to employ a certain percentage of youths then pay them 50% of the defaulted tax as salaries for a year then pay the remaining 50% to the state government installmentally. By this the gubernatorial hopeful believes that he will not only reduce the rate of unemployment but also save such companies from collapsing.

He also noted that empowering someone in a wrong field may never help the person in achieving his full potentials. He cited an instance that, if someone who is talented in the ICT sector and such a person is empowered in the agricultural sector he or she may never do well.

When asked how he planned to achieve this, his Excellency said my administration will create a portal (website) where applications will be collected with areas of interest so that the government may know where to empower such a person.

When asked again how the less privileged will be engaged in his government, honourable Msoo answered by saying “he needs to first find out from the less privileged what they can do and derive pleasure in doing so that they can be assisted respectively. His words reads in part;

My administration will engage everybody, the youths, less privileged and women inclusive. We will negotiate with tax defaulting companies to employ a certain percentage of the Youths and use 50% of the tax to pay them as salaries, then they can pay the remaining 50% to the government installmentally.  Women can also be involved, infact the first person I met when I decided to run for this position is a lady, she has done so well for me. So women must be involved in my government actively.”

Honourable Msoo Gassarah is a Businessman, an accountant by profession. He is a strong contender in the Benue gubernatorial race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
