The national government, through the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hon. Sadiya Umar Farouq on Thursday hailed off the disbursement of N20,000 grants to more than 3,000 weak people in the Eighteen Local Government of Cross River State.
Farouq revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari was the one that sent her to Cross River State to give aid to the weak people in the State. She said;
“We came to help poor people and weak people in Cross River and this exercise has been happening across the nation over.”
On her comments, the National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Betta Edu, lauded President Buhari for his enthusiasm to help the less privileged across the country.
The Minister asked the recipients of the Federal Government grants to utilize the cash.
She noticed that the majority of the Federal Government approaches are focused on the weak groups across Nigeria.
