Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, promised Nigerians that if he were to be elected president next year, all citizens would be treated fairly. Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for president, is accused by the Presidential Campaign Council of the APC of trying to defraud Nigerians with false promises and outright lies and that he does not have the best interests of the nation in mind when he made these accusations. Tinubu’s assurance came at the same time.
However, Atiku urged Tinubu yesterday to quit evading questions from Nigerians and reveal the source of his money. However, a number of well-known northerners asserted that the country would suffer if the current APC were to take power again in 2023. Professor Usman Yusuf, Mahdi Shehu, and Ladan Salihu, who previously served as the director general of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), are the group’s leaders.
At a town hall meeting with Muslim leaders from the South-west in Ibadan, Tinubu praised the nation’s religious leaders for their persistent prayers and sermons, which he claimed had aided in fostering unity and peaceful coexistence among the country’s people.
Mr. Tunde Rahman, the head of his media office, issued a statement in which Tinubu pledged to use his vast expertise to guide Nigeria with an eye toward creativity and pragmatism, raise the country, and restore Nigerians’ hope. “This election season has been a combination of facts and deception, truth and lies,” the APC candidate, who spoke in parts of Yoruba, stated. I want the election to be decided on the basis of facts and the truth.
“What are a candidate’s past accomplishments and positions on certain issues? I beg you to encourage your supporters to cast informed ballots at the polls. Choose a candidate who has a vision for a tolerant and compassionate Nigeria where our legal and constitutional rights are supported.”
Tinubu urged the Islamic clerics to inform their followers of the significance of exercising their right to vote and choosing only qualified candidates with a proven record of excellent public service. He described the 2023 general election as Nigeria’s historic meeting with destiny. He urged people not to fall for the deception and ruses of individuals who have nothing to offer.
The former Lagos State governor promised Nigerians that he would be “a fair and just leader,” highlighting the fact that “my guarantee for fairness and justice is consistent with the teachings of Islamic faith.” In a diverse society like ours, a leader must be a leader of all. If elected, I will lead in accordance with the constitution of our country in an honest and democratic manner.
When it comes to security, Tinubu promised to put an end to the reign of terror, kidnappings, and other violent crimes by hiring more people who would be taught and retrained, as well as by providing additional security tools and devices for an effective fight against criminal elements.
The APC candidate pledged to diversify and reform the economy in order to achieve a yearly growth rate of at least 6%.
