The official website of the electric car manufacturer revealed that inventory units other than the brand-new Model 3 and Model Y are also being discounted. Now, if the Model S and Model X inventory units are delivered by the end of the year, further benefits will apply.
The additional incentives for the Model S and Model X are significant even though they are only available for the last few days of the year.
According to Tesla’s website, customers who order new Model S and Model X vehicles today and have them delivered by December 31, 2022, will receive a $7,500 discount and a free Supercharging pass good for 10,000 miles. This is a really appealing combination because it significantly lowers the cost of the two flagship cars.
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of the Biden administration, which is anticipated to provide a $7,500 federal tax credit for certified electric vehicles, may be one of the factors influencing this plan. Surprisingly, according to the Internal Revenue Service’s list of approved automobiles, the Model S and Model X are not eligible for the IRA’s incentives (IRS).
