The Member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State, Wole Oke (PDP Osun), has said the emergence of Senator Ademola Adeleke of the PDP as victor of last Saturday’s governorship political race in Osun State is a hint of something better over the horizon for a vote based system and the party in front of the 2023 surveys.
In an explanation yesterday, the legislator who saluted the lead representative choose on his triumph, said, “It is a hint of something better over the horizon of what is to come for Nigeria as a country at the approaching general races. Osun individuals talked on July 16, and God acknowledged it.
“Come 2023, Nigerians will speak again. Many thought victory was impossible for PDP in Osun, but were proven wrong.”
Oke said the PDP’s victory was a result of mass mobilisation which resulted in the grand coalition of the people of the state against bad governance and insensitive leadership.
Breaking the norm, Ademola Adeleke from the Osun West Senatorial District, precisely Ede, emerged as the governor-elect of the state after decades of marginalisation – the baton of governorship has often been exchanged between two main senatorial districts; Osun Central and Osun East.
With 375, 027 votes, Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC suffered a defeat from the candidate of the main opposition’s People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Ademola Adeleke, who polled 403, 371 votes.
