I will initiate Student Entrepreneurship Loan and Women Investment Fund if elected Governor –Terver Akase

Honourable Terver Akase, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State and one of the strongest contenders in the race to govern Benue State on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has promised the establishment of a “Youths Development Commission” to aid youths realize their ambitious goals and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the State.

Akase revealed this while speaking at the “BENUE YOUTHS SUMMIT AND INTERACTIVE SESSION” on the topic: Next Generation Leaders, held at the Tor Tiv hall of the Benue Hotels, Makurdi yesterday.

Hon. Akase who was heavily represented by his Campaign director on Media and Publicity, Mr. Nathaniel Nongu, reaffirmed his efforts to making sure the Youths of the State participate actively in governance if given the mandate. He said;

“I will initiate programmes to prepare more Benue youths for leadership participation in diverse spheres”.

The guber hopeful also promises to initiate a “Student Entrepreneurship Loan” to help Finance Students with profitable ideas or innovations to actualize their dreams and become self-reliance after graduation.

He (Akase) also stated that youths are the core focus of the socio-economic growth of the state and his administration will be committed to wealth and jobs creation by exploring opportunities in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), agriculture and entrepreneurship for youthful people.

When asked how his administration will engage women to balance the gender inequality, Akase said, if elected Governor, he will also initiate “Benue Women Investment Fund” to assist vulnerable women engage themselves in business activities that may help improve their standard of living.

The event which was organized by Classic Gist, an entertainment, lifestyle and politics blog had in attendance a senatorial aspirant from Benue North-East on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), another gubernatorial candidate on the platform of the APC, students, youths groups, activists and unionists drawn from various institutions within the state and beyond.
