On his first day as the new owner of the social media giant site, Elon Musk reportedly started sacking top company executives for deceiving him. Elon Musk finally purchased Twitter on Thursday.
Top Twitter executives on Elon Musk’s list of those let go include the company’s CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and head of legal and policy Vijaya Gadde, according to a Reuters story.
For those who don’t know, Vijaya Gadde, a prominent executive from Hyderabad, was responsible for the choice to permanently ban former US president Donald Trump from Twitter after the notorious Capitol Hill riots.
It’s important to note that Elon Musk reportedly assured Twitter personnel that he doesn’t want to fire 75% of the workforce when he takes over the firm, according to a Blomberg story.
Musk has casually referenced firing employees when he takes over Twitter in recent months. According to the report, Twitter employees continue to worry about impending workforce reductions.
The contract was signed with Agrawal and Segal there, according to the Reuters article, and both of Twitter’s top executives were led away.
Elon Musk hopes to alter Twitter with the acquisition by relaxing the service’s content moderation guidelines, making its algorithm more visible, fostering subscription businesses, and firing staff members. On Tesla’s call with analysts on October 19, Musk stated, “In my opinion, Twitter’s long-term potential is an order of magnitude more than its current worth.”
Even though the former US president has stated he won’t return to the platform, Elon Musk claimed earlier this year that he will lift the ban on Donald Trump. As an alternative, he has released Truth Social, his own social media application.
