Solana made a number of launch announcements at Breakpoint 2022 in Libson, the ecosystem’s yearly conference, as it gets ready to enter the mainstream. The conference attendees from Cointelegraph’s ground crew provided insights on Solana’s plan, which includes, among other things, the introduction of smartphones, the establishment of decentralized application (DApp) stores, and a collaboration with Google Cloud.

GeoNFTs and QR Code giveaways for the Solana Store
Raj Gokal, a co-founder of Solana, and Anatoly Yakovenko, a co-founder of Solana Labs, were present at the event, which was fortunate for Cointelegraph’s ground crew.
Soon after, Vibhu Norby, the CEO and founder of Solana Spaces, took the stage to deliver an interactive presentation while asking attendees to scan QR codes to participate in a giveaway.
In addition, Norby revealed the Solana Store in Miami by presenting the aforementioned walkaround video of customers exploring the shop. The CEO additionally disclosed that:
“Now anyone, anywhere can build their own Solana Store.”
Norby announced the debut of GeoNFTs, a nonfungible token (NFT) implementation that enables users to geo-tag a region in their city, while outlining the procedure for constructing a Solana store. He added these details:
“If you have a GeoNFT, you can redeem it 1-for-1 with the exclusive rights to open a Solana store in that region.”
Solana wants to support aspiring solo enterprises by providing them with GeoNFTs.
Early in 2023, Solana smartphones will be available for pre-order.
The Solana mobile team declared when announcing the release of its forthcoming smartphones, “It’s made for the people.” According to Cointelegraph, preorders for Solana mobile phones will start in 2023. The corporation has not, however, provided an official release date.
The Solana phone stands out for its capacity to safely store the private keys of cryptocurrency wallets. A Qualcomm chipset with an Arm-based SoC will power the Solana smartphone, enhancing productivity.

Google Cloud is soon to become a Solana node validator
While the above announcements mark a series of milestones for Solana, the ecosystem’s partnership with Google Cloud evidently stole the limelight.
The Google Cloud is developing a block-producing Solana validator to participate in and validate the network based on the data gathered by Cointelegraph’s ground crew.
The Oct. 27-first disclosed Blockchain Node Engine by Google Cloud will be a part of the Solana chain starting in 2023. Users will be able to start a specific Solana node in the Cloud thanks to the integration.
The ability to access past data will also be facilitated by Google Cloud’s indexing of Solana data and its eventual delivery to BigQuery, a fully-managed, serverless data warehouse, by the end of the next year.
