Ahead of the 2023 general election, the Frontline Governorship aspirant under the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the first Senior advocate of Nigeria in Plateau state,Chief Amb Garba Shamttu Pwul S.A.N,has promised equal participation in the course of governance and every decision-making intended to move the state forward.
Pwul made this known when he formally declared for the governorship race at the new APC state Secretariat office in Kalwa House, Zarmaganda Jos Plateau state.
This event took place on Thursday 28th April,2022 and was chaired by the state APC Publicity Secretary Hon Sylvanus Namang.
“I stand before you today to declare my intention and submit my application officially to serve as your next governor”
Pwul joins others in the Governoship race under the platform of the All Progressive Congress.
I did not come to this decision lightly. I have practiced law for solid 40 years from 1982-2022. These 40 years of practicing law on the Plateau have equipped me not only with great experience in the terrain but also in governance and compassion for the ordinary citizens of our dear state.
I am compelled to aspire by the urgency of our present challenges to profer a solution and am prepared to take Plateau state to the promise years.
I believe that despite our cultural differences, we remain one people under God. We may speak different languages or worship in different ways, but we all want the same things – a better life for our children, the ability to support our families, the freedom to live in peace without fear for our lives or properties.
I am proud to have been part of this success story on the APC family in Plateau that today all the 17 local Government Chairmen are APC,all the Councillors are APC, it is first in the history of Plateau state that the Councillor representing the ward of former Governor Jonah David Jang, JT Usaini and Chris Hassan are all APC.
I am contesting for Governor of Plateau state because I believe that it is my moral duty to give what I can in the service of my state to sustain and intensify present efforts at solving our problems, our party must ensure the emergence of a leadership that is equipped with broad experience in the terrain to ensure peace and unity, we need a steady hand and a passion for success in a state that remains united to pursue prosperity for all.
I have journeyed to this point. I could not have come this far without my late parents, and my elder brother Chief Musa Pwul who sacrificed so much for me. I could not have come this far without the support of my beautiful wife. I could not have come this far without friends and family who have believed in me, I could not have come this far without the Grace of God.
I look forward to your support to Pwul Plateau state with ideas.
I have never been the type who folds his arms and complains about inadequacies I see around me. I have always jumped whatever I can to help with the solution, to try and bring relief to those with both feet to do suffering, to work to make things right where I see wrong. If you elect me as your next governor, I promise to play my part to the best of my ability. I will never forget the fact that I am there to serve you.
Today, I stand as an aspirant to the position of Governor of Plateau state because of that same passion for people; that same drive for results. More than ever before, I will remain steadfast because the stakes are too high. We cannot afford to fail. We cannot afford to veer off-course.
The road ahead will be long and arduous. But we go forward with faith.
