The Vice President of Nigeria Professor Yemi Osibanjo has been hospitalized for a leg surgery.
The special advisor to the president in the office of the Vice President on SME Hon. Laolu Akande revealed this while speaking to newsmen in the statehouses, Abuja today.
He revealed that the Vice President may undergo a surgical operation which his medical team believes it may be as a result of playing squash.
Akande further said his medical team will give an update on the condition of the V.P tomorrow but at the moment his Excellency remained admitted in the undisclosed hospital, he said.
The Vice President himself posted an update on his verified Twitter handle disclosing that he has been admitted in the hospital and may possibly undergo a surgical operation. The post reads;
“I have been admitted today in the hospital for a surgical procedure on account of a recurrent pain in the leg possibly sustained from an injury while playing squash.”
In another development, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has accused the President of being responsible for the insecurity the country is currently facing.
The Presidency is however yet to respond to the accusation since it has gone viral on the internet.
Ortom believes that President Muhammadu Buhari has the capacity but lack the political will to tackle the issue of insecurity the country is facing on daily basis.
