The honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Haruna Umar |
The Federal Government through the Central Bank and NASIMS commenced the NPOWER beneficiaries Nexit entrepreneurship Training in the 36 States and the FCT.
A survey by NewsWay revealed that, beneficiaries of the Npower batches of A and B all gathered in their numbers around the training centers to be acquainted with entrepreneurship skills that may help them utilize the NEXIT loan promised by the Central Bank.
A statement by the Special Assistant to the Minister on Media said, the ministry has earmarked the sum of N3 million for each successful trainee of the programme. CBN stated in response that Nexit Trainees will benefit hugely from the ongoing AGSMEIS loan made available for innovations in the agric-value chain and a limited host of others.
The AGSMEIS Loan is being reviewed, approved and disbursed by NIRSAL Microfinance Bank, a subsidiary of the NIRSAL.
Negative encounters at the training centers
Npower Beneficiaries express their opinions about the ongoing Nexit Training with many complaining of hardship and discomfort as the venues not being spacious enough to contain all the trainees at once.
Some lamented that despite promising N3 million loan successful beneficiaries, NASIMS and CBN may delay in implementing the promise.
This training was supposed to be done about a year ago but here we are doing it almost to the expiration of the president’s tenure. We are not really happy doing this training now because very soon political activities may take up the trend and every thing placed on hold.
