In response to the recent earthquake that devastated parts of Turkey, Binance will airdrop BNB valued at $100 to all users who have been identified as residing in those areas.
Proof of Address (POA) forms submitted before February 6th in 10 cities where the earthquake had a significant impact will be used to identify users. These cities include Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Diyarbakr, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Anlurfa, Adyaman, Malatya, and Hatay.
The POA method is the greatest one we have for finding possibly affected users, despite its drawbacks and imperfections. Our projection for the overall donations is $5 million USD (or 94,000,000 TRY).
People sometimes lose access to regular banking in the wake of natural catastrophes, just when additional funds are required to assist cover food, medical supplies, and other important necessities.
As cryptocurrencies allow for quick, inexpensive, borderless, and transparent transactions, they are now being utilized more frequently to send money to catastrophe victims.
A public contribution address for Binance Charity has also been made available for use by anyone. Everything you send us will be converted to TRY and given to a recognized NGO to aid those in need. The Emergency Earthquake Appeal will take contributions in BTC, ETH, BNB, BUSD, and XRP.
Binance founder and CEO CZ said:
“The recent earthquakes in Turkey have had a devastating impact on so many people and communities. We hope that our efforts will bring some relief to those affected. We are also calling on our industry peers to once again come together to offer support in these times of crisis.”
To the extent necessary, our team is doing its share to protect the safety and well-being of Turkish Binancians and their families. Binance supports its users during these trying times, and we’ll keep looking for new methods to support the Turkish community.
