The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have requested a bill to preventing children of public officials schooling outside the shores of Nigeria.
Remember that the NLC set out on the nationwide protest in fortitude with the ASUU and other associations over the industrial action the unions embarked upon in some state funded colleges and Federal Universities in Nigeria.
Realm Tombra, Chairman of the Union in Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island section of the association, revealed during the protest organized and coordinated by the Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) on Tuesday in Yenagoa.
“In the event that this is finished, it will construct a superior society by creating imposing instructive organizations and further develop financing of the college framework in Nigeria.
“This battle isn’t against government, yet about the common laborers and against the decision class and we are exceptionally dedicated to it.
“In the event that the rich and poor go to a similar university or secondary school, I don’t figure the strike will happen in the future.
“In the event that they school here and their children are here they will show absolute concern for the college framework and the tertiary foundations in Nigeria,” he said.
Lecturers in government-owned colleges and Universities started a cross country strike on February 14, over the reception of University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) as a payment framework in the University.
Also speaking, John Ndiomu, the NLC Chairman in Bayelsa asked the Federal government to consent to the revised draft arrangement among it and ASUU.
“Embrace University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS) set up IPPIS, Pay Earned Academic Allowances (EAA).”
“Released of Revitalization Fund, Release white paper on appearance to Federal Universities. Alter NUC regulation to control expansion of state universities without financing,” He said.
