A former Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Hon. Terver Akase has refuted the widely insinuations that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief Ahmed Bola Tinubu is always accorded glory for developing Lagos.
However, Akase in a tweet revealed that Lagos has been the capital of Nigeria for 77 years (1914 to 1991), therefore the country’s resources were hugely sunk into it’s development for nearly eight decades. He believes that, Lagos is what it is today because the Federal Government long developed it so it is an implausible fallacy to accord such glory to someone who became her Governor in 1999.

In his views, the APC’s presidential candidate might have done well for Lagos State but the huge infrastructural development of Lagos was not totally done by Tinubu as many claims in his camp today.
The tweet attracted a lot of reactions and comments. Notable amongst the comments were the ones written by @Alpha_Yom replying to @TerAkase:
“I’ll like to see pics of bar beach before and after, ikorodu road before and after, and badagry before and after.”
Another comment from @PeeGeeMax replying @TerAkase:
“It’s not fallacy to say with evidence what one man did to improve the status of Lagos while it was under his control. Besides, your post is based on a fallacy that the entire Lagos was a Federal Capital. Much of what constitutes Lagos today was part of the western region.”
And another one came from @fvckgotti replying @TerAkase:
“The city degenerated after the colonial period but you won’t add that. Overpopulation, infrastructural degradation. Waste Management was nowhere. The pictures are still there. Tinubu governorship and leadership changed these things.”
