10 Best and most popular home based musicians in Benue state 2019

Benue state is the heart of entertainment in North Central geopolitical zone of Nigeria, created by the late Gen. Murtala Muhammed back in 1976 during the unstable democratic era. This article is intended to help those who are nursing plans to collaborate with Benue based musicians to decide who to feature on their next song. Here is the list of ten most popular Benue based musicians:
1.  New Jerusalem:

when they first released their first Album it sounded more like some kind of comedy stuff, but when the second album came out it took over the streets of the state both in rural and urban settlements. They penetrated the crowd of many upcomings with a unique style of gospel with an estimated fan base of about 2.3 million which about seven hundred thousand actually bought the CD.

2.  Osaze:

Osaze is the second best selling cultural musician in Benue. His albums were all recorded at levels and 49 keys studios by Baba Slowings. Osaze’s most selling point is the adult content lyrics, he sings about nudity, sex, during and post-sex feelings and it has made him very popular in Tiv speaking part of the state.

3.  Jahfas:

Jahfas also known as Mr. Naira on our list is the third most popular musician in Benue who came into limelight in 2010 but four years after he released his first and second albums, he surrendered his life to God and has already been ordained a pastor with the Liberty Arena Family Ministries. Jahfas’ music was sold about 500,000 copies by the late uncle Jah. He had a fan base estimated to be almost two million.

4.  Rapizo:

Initially known as Rapture when he led the group “G-Squared 007” which was founded by Johnicks back in 2007. Mr. Chop your NAMA is presently the most wanted musician that is based in the state. With a unique folk style, Rapizo is the name on every corner of the state, though his album didn’t sell well as alleged by his marketer “Famous CD tech” probably because he gave it out for free online.

5.  Eugenous De Great:

Eugene Shawon made it through with his Brenda Fassie tributes. De Great’s music is a complete replication of the late South African anti apartheid singer Brenda Fassie. His recent release “Dooshima” went viral thereby making him the fifth selling musician in Benue state so far.

6.  Praise Abraham:

A traditional gospel singer based in Gboko town of Benue sate. Praise released “Wuese Ter” which means “praise the Lord”. The music circulated faster than he himself expected, it sold out about 470,000 copies and has since remained praise songs in Pentecostal churches across the state.

7.  Ann Mker:

The best female gospel singer so far, Ann Mker is actually the seventh best selling musician in Benue state. Her album was marketed in Makurdi by the late Uncle Jah. Ann also lives in Gboko but does most of her musical productions in Abuja. She has an estimated fan base of about 1.2 Million.

8.  Kefas:

The beautiful Benue crowner is based in Jos the Plateau State capital. He released his beautiful Benue in 2009, but the album under his watch did not move as expected until he sold the rights to Famous CDtech in 2012 that yielded smiles on his face. Since then Kefas has not done any major work. Though he has many fans that are already anxious of his new release.

9.  Psalm Amadi:

Chidozie Oliver Amadi started his career answering Ziggy until he became a born again in 2015, since then he changed his names to Psalm Amadi and has also switched genre from Dancehall to gospel. Psalm Amadi launched his album recently and about a thousand copies were sold-out at the venue of the launching.

10.    Don Bounce:

Don Bounce Soove also known as “Oh Mama O” has been signed under 49 keys Entertainment by Baba Slowings. Don Bounce is very practical with singing as he performs powerfully, energetically and also making sure that the cultural heritage isn’t totally neglected. Don Bounce has a fan base of about 400,000 though yet to release an album.
