Pi Network is still expanding on its closed mainnet as the mining platform gets ready to introduce the open mainnet.

While we wait for the open mainnet debut, we’d want to take a closer look at the protocol’s native currency, $Pi, and some of its uses in the cryptocurrency world.

At the time of the mainnet’s launch, Pi will act as the currency that drives all transactions on the Pi blockchain. Many developers have already expressed interest in building utilities by releasing their Decentralized Applications (dApp) on the network by taking part in the current Hackathon.

Here are the primary uses of Pi currency for each user in the cryptocurrency field when open mainnet launches, given the rising interest in blockchain technology:

Simple Money Transfer

Users can send Pi Coins fast and without paying exorbitant transfer fees, just like with other cryptocurrency assets.

NFT transactions

Pi Coin enables fans of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to create, acquire, or trade NFTs. For users that are interested, Pi Network will open its own NFT marketplace where they may trade their collections for Pi coins.

Buy products and services

Pioneers can use the Pi coin to make purchases on the Pi Marketplace.

Users will be able to connect with experts from many fields using the Pi Workforce application to fulfill various jobs. Users can simply hire someone to work for them by paying with Pi coins.

Play to Win

Users of the PlayToEarn (P2E) program can play games and earn Pi coins.

Along with its own money, the Pi blockchain has a promising future. In addition to the aforementioned services, Pi Coin will incorporate more concepts. To view the numerous inventions from the ongoing Hackathon, head to the Brainstorm section of the Pi mobile application.

What is Pi Network?

Pi Network is a novel cryptocurrency and developer platform that allows mobile users to mine Pi coins without draining the device’s battery. Pi’s blockchain secures not only economic transactions via a mobile meritocracy system but also a full Web 3.0 experience where community developers can build decentralized applications (dApps) for millions of users.
