Following the recent discovery of an amazonpi.com domain, pioneers within the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) community are asking Amazon for a response. The idea that the internet-based business is considering Pi Network is spreading.
On January 28, Pi News held a Twitter space where famous Pioneers, including Kozii, the originator of the Hungarian Pi community, spoke about a variety of network-related topics. Pi KYC, the Pi Hackathon, the Pi Amazon domain, and other subjects are just a few examples. Kozzi’s research indicates that Amazon Technologies bought the domain before Pi Network went live.
“If you go on who.is and search Amazonpi.com, you’ll find that this domain was purchased by Amazon Technologies a few weeks before Pi officially launched in 2019. They actually used a service provider called MarkMonitor,” Kozzi said.
Following extensive investigation by other Pioneers, it was found that Amazon Technologies had bought the domain in 2019. Kozzi revealed that another Pioneer, Peter, had at some time made contact with the legal department at Amazon to confirm the domain acquisition.
“Peter actually called up their office, which is in Nevada, their legal team. They even transferred him to a lady, and she basically said, at this current moment, she’s unable to comment on this matter,” Kozzi added.

The problem has not yet received a response from Amazon. It is still unclear whether Amazon owns the domain and whether they have any interest in the mobile mining platform.
