The long awaited Lumi integration and conversion commences today with the official unveiling of the “Swiffin Transact” application as Diaspora Sixth Region also begin the enforcement and implementation of it’s Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM).
Explaining the usage of the application, Dr. Linus Etube said transacting with the “Swiffin Transact” is actually simple as beneficiaries or users wouldn’t be stressing themselves trying to convert currencies before making payments, but rather they will click a button to pay using their local currency while the recipient receives credit in their own local currency. His words;
“Somebody from South Africa who is transacting with a merchant in Nigeria doesn’t need to pay the merchant in a foreign currency, by using the “Swiffin Transact” he will only have to click one button and pay using the South African Rand while the Nigerian merchant receives payment in the Nigerian Naira.”
Concerning the inability of Swiffin users to access their wallets, Mr. Mbi Mbapeh a Core member of the Swiffin Digital Platform said “all beneficiaries who have been receiving the Lumi stimulus will be migrated to the new platform.”
