JUST IN: Nigerian FinTech “the Growth Platform” emerged winner of the AFI Inclusive FinTech trophy in Jordan

The Growth Platform, a Nigerian FinTech company has emerged as the overall winner of the 2022 “Alliance for Financial Inclusive FinTech trophy’ in this year’s edition of the Global Policy Forum held in Jordan.

This is revealed by the company through its official twitter handle @growthplat_me today. The company further revealed that the competitive series began several months ago with over 1200 contenders drawn across 48 countries from different continents. The tweet reads;

“The Growth Platform received the first place award, after a competitive series of months between 1,200+ contenders from 48 countries, for which we made a final pitch among 10 finalists.”

In a separate tweet, the Growth Platform acknowledged the Bank of Industry (BOI), Nigeria’s  work through Growth Platform infrastructure to enhance financial inclusion.

AFI hosts the world’s largest financial inclusion forum for regulators & policy makers every year.

The Growth Platform is a nationwide infrastructure executed by the Bank of Industry (BOI), employing technology, big data and an extensive field agent network to deliver end-to-end design and execution of programmes targeted at Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, for governments, international organisations, and private sector entities.

Since inception, the Growth Platform has successfully designed and executed a series of intervention programmes, e.g The Government Empowerment Enterprise Programme (GEEP) which comprises of TraderMoni, MarketMoni & FarmerMoni, the National Women Empowerment Fund (NAWEF), and the North East Rehabilitation Fund (NERF).

With the emergence of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the platform has been used both locally and internationally to deliver much needed relief and support for the general population. Initiatives include the World Bank’s Nigeria Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (CARES) Program and the Federal Government’s MSME Survival Fund under the Nigerian Economic Sustainability Plan (NESP).
