Ex-Deputy Governor’s father has been released after 5 days of abduction

His Royal Highness, Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere, father of former deputy governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has been freed by his abductors.

The traditional ruler of Ezi-Mbieri community in Mbaitoli council of the state was released by the kidnappers early yesterday, five days after he and his aide were abducted.

He was taken to hospital for medical checkup.

He arrived in his hometown, Achi, amid jubilation by his family and subjects.

The monarch was kidnapped last Friday by gunmen around Iho community in Ikeduru council area of the state on his way to a funeral ceremony.

“I was only taking water without food for five days I and my aide were abducted. They took us to a place we don’t know because we were blindfolded. So, when they were bringing us out they also blindfolded us and pushed us out of the vehicle and we found ourselves at Ogbaku,” he said.

His son, Prince Madumere expressed joy that his father was released after five days with the gunmen.
