BREAKING: Six persons buried alive in Cross River State–Reports

Six individuals have been apparently buried alive after an illicit mine fell in the Umai community, Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The gold stone mine, which is supposed to be a few feet down, fell on Wednesday killing six while different excavators got away.

On a visit to the site of the incident, the Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Ada Charles Egwu, denounced the degree of illicit mining exercises nearby and approached security specialists to expand reconnaissance on the area to forestall such event.

Egwu expressed his bitterness towards the demise of the young fellows who lost their lives because of the lamentable occurrence in a bid to survive.

He said, “The motivation behind this visit is to survey the exercises of the unlawful excavators and furthermore see with my own eyes the site that ended the existences of six young fellows this new year.

“My heartfelt condolences goes out to their families and the great people of Biase Local Government Area over this lamentable turn of events.”

The Council Chairman expressed that he would set up an insightful board to decide the essential move to be made and approached security offices to close the site and arrest any individual who underrates the order to avoid the mine.
