The largest refinery being constructed in Nigeria by Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, is now entirely finished, according to reports.

A top corporate executive told reporters on Friday that production is anticipated to start in the first quarter of 2023 and that the refinery is currently being tested.

When completed, the integrated refinery and petrochemical complex in the Lekki Free Zone, close to Lagos, will be the largest single-train facility in the world.

The refinery, which is expected to cost around $20 billion, will produce polypropylene, jet fuel, and gasoline and diesel of Euro-V quality. It is also expected to create 4,000 direct jobs and 145,000 indirect jobs.
