The Pi Network core team has rolled out significant enhancements to its testnet developer tools, aiming to bolster the network’s enclosed mainnet objective of creating robust Pioneer utilities. In a Pi Day announcement, the team unveiled two pivotal updates: App to User Payments and Developer Wallet.

These updates are designed to empower developers to craft innovative applications within the Pi ecosystem while still in the testnet phase. App to User Payment facilitates seamless financial transactions between app developers and users, ensuring that funds can be efficiently transferred within the network. Meanwhile, Developer Wallets allow developers to manage and utilize Pi coins as they build their applications, providing a dedicated tool for handling the currency in their projects.

“App to User payments enables payment flows between app developers and members. Developer Wallets were released on Testnet, as specific wallets, for app developers to hold and utilize Pi for the apps they are developing,” stated the Pi Network blog.

Before these features are integrated into the open mainnet, the core team and developers are responsible for thoroughly testing them to identify and resolve any bugs. This rigorous testing phase ensures that both features are secure and reliable, paving the way for their eventual deployment on the Pi Network open mainnet.

The introduction of these developer tools marks a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts of community developers and Pioneers. It represents a crucial step toward the highly anticipated launch of the open mainnet, which is set to transform the Pi Network ecosystem.
