The steering committee for the implementation of the Federal Government’s survival fund has approved payment to 40,114 new beneficiaries. This is coming two months after the last payment from the scheme.
Many people have expressed dissatisfaction over the program, some believed the acclaimed number of beneficiaries is only rising in media publications while the actual number of beneficiaries remain few compared to what is been published.
Mr. Johnson Laolu Akande said at the end of this month reports from the scheme will be submitted to the vice president and subsequently to the president where recommendations may also be made requesting an extension of the program as the committee believed many businesses did not lay-off during the pandemic.
Most people complained about the program, saying they applied last year and were even verified through call but were not paid and up till now they are still yet to receive any payment.
