Federal Government and Wema Bank Announce Eligibility Criteria for Skillnnovation Grant Program

In a bid to bolster the nation’s workforce and empower its youth, the Federal Government, in collaboration with Wema Bank, has unveiled the eligibility criteria for the Skillnnovation Grant program. This initiative, announced through the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), aims to train two million youths in digital skills and provide support to one million Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.

Mr. Olusola Abiola, the Director of Information at the Office of the Vice President, revealed that this program aligns with the Federal Government’s commitment to fulfilling the job creation agenda of the administration led by Vice President Tinubu. The partnership with Wema Bank underscores the government’s determination to equip the youth with essential skills for the digital age and foster entrepreneurship.

To be eligible for the Skillnnovation Grant program, aspiring candidates must meet specific criteria outlined by the organizers. The program welcomes applications from Nigerian youths between the ages of 18 and 35 who are passionate about acquiring digital skills and contributing to the nation’s economic growth. Additionally, MSMEs seeking support should be registered and operating within the country.

To be eligible for the Skillnnovation Grant, aspiring participants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35. This focus on young adults aligns with the program’s objective of empowering the next generation of digitally-savvy professionals.
  • Nationality: The grant is exclusively available to Nigerian citizens, ensuring that the benefits of this initiative directly impact the country’s youth population.
