Oganiru was a respected member of the Actor’s Guild of Nigeria and a mentor to many upcoming actors. As an executive producer, he had produced more than 10 movies and helped many other producers by providing technical support for casting, editing and publicity.

He spoke of his shock at becoming embroiled in such a serious controversy and urged members of the public to not rush to judgment.

“I’m innocent until proven guilty,” he said, “It has been a real struggle to come out of this unscathed but I remain hopeful.”

Oganiru went on to say that while he considers himself primarily responsible for his actions, there exists a larger network set up to victimize him. He went on to describe his experience as being “a nightmare” and expressed his desire to get reinstated in Nollywood by clearing his name.
