Pi Network Rumored to Launch Open Mainnet on Second Pi Day

Pi Network, a fast-growing decentralized cryptocurrency project, is rumored to launch its open mainnet on June 28th, which is being referred to as the second Pi Day. While there is no official announcement from the Core Team confirming the rumor, Nicolas Kokkalis, who spoke during the last Pi Day on March 14th, provided some insight into what was hindering the launch.

During the Pi Day event, Kokkalis stated that the only two things hindering the launch of the mainnet were utility building and KYC (know-your-customer) verification. He also noted that the Q1 2023 Hackathon was yet to end, which was another reason for the delay.

However, the Hackathon has since ended successfully with many utility applications built by Pioneers, including Piketplace and Coinskro. This means that the project is on track to launch the mainnet soon, which is expected to bring about significant changes to the Pi Network.

With the launch of the open mainnet, users will be able to transact on the network without any restrictions. It will also allow for more developers to build decentralized applications on the network, which could further boost the adoption of Pi Network.

The launch of the mainnet is highly anticipated among the Pi Network community, which has grown significantly over the past year. The network currently has over 18 million users globally, and the launch of the mainnet could further increase its user base.

While the Core Team is yet to make an official announcement regarding the launch date, the anticipation among the community continues to grow as the second Pi Day draws nearer. Many are eagerly awaiting the launch of the open mainnet and the opportunities it will bring to the Pi Network.
